I haven’t listened to the entire sermon, but an important point that I think needs to be driven home is that many of those attributes (feminine, etc.) are not inherently bad. There is a proper place for them in the created order. For a woman to be feminine and soft is a virtuous and admirable character trait. The distinction is that acting like a woman is not what men in general, and church leaders in particular, are called to do.
Thanks for the comments, Van. I forgot to answer a post of yours on another thread — I don’t know if the sermon by Dr. Ferguson was recorded or not. I suspect it was, but I’m not sure how to get ahold of it at this time.
